Sarveshwari Shakti International Women Aghori Akhara (SSIWAA) is a registered trust devoted to Maa Pratyangira Devi. Its ritual centre is Manali Ashram in the Himalayas, and its head office is in Mumbai.
Our story
The Akhara was established in 2015 by Sadhvi Sshivani Durga ji, with a simple purpose: to keep the ancient worship of the Divine Mother alive, and to make it open to every sincere devotee, whatever their background.
It follows the Aghor path, a tradition that teaches freedom from fear and from the divisions people draw between one another. As a women's Akhara, it also gives women a place to lead, learn and serve in a tradition where their voices have not always been heard.
Today the Akhara's priests perform poojas at Manali Ashram for devotees across India and abroad, and this portal brings those rituals to devotees wherever they live.
What guides us
Four ideas shape everything the Akhara does.
Devotion to the Divine Mother is at the heart of every ritual and every gathering.
Honouring the divine feminine, and women as guardians and teachers of the tradition.
Selfless service to devotees, to the ashram and to those in need.
Rituals performed faithfully, as they have been passed down, without shortcuts.
